Vern Abila, CHPA-III, Security & Investigative Professional
With nearly 40 years of accomplishments, Vern is broad-spectrum security and investigative professional. His expertise includes risk management assessments, security plan design, and investigations. He has worked in the governmental and public sectors, improving operational systems, processes, policies, and procedures.
The U.S. Department of State recognizes Vern as a security subject matter expert for VIP and Diplomatic Protection as well as facilitating risk and crisis management programs.
During his career, Vern has solved complex problems and challenges for various government agencies, fortune 100 corporations, schools, churches, and private individuals worldwide. In 2008, Vern applied his protective methodology and consulting approach to the field of school safety and security. He developed active shooter scenarios and multiple training programs as well as assessment tools for schools, houses of worship, and behavioral mental health groups.
Vern is certified as a Homeland Security Protection Associate, Level III from the Global Society of Homeland & National Security Professionals (GSHNSP). Vern also serves as the Vice President of the Colorado Board of Directors for the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP).
