THE NEED TO TRAIN STUDENTS
Students are facing various forms of abuse including bullying, substance abuse, or boundary violations and grooming caused by their peers and adults. To protect our students, many schools have recognized the importance of providing proper training not only for adults, but also for students. The True Yes (TTY) is designed to promote students’ mental health and school safety.

The training is positive. It effectively focuses on empowering assertiveness instead of fear. No hot button terms such as predators, pedophile, or victims are used.
PRESENTER/LEARNER GUIDE
It contains a variety of discussion questions that teachers and guardians can utilize to foster conversations. Depending on circumstances and age groups, they can address specific issues such as sexual abuse, e-cigaretts, sextortion, or bullying.

HOW TO USE IT?
AGE RANGE
Grades 3-12, Beginning college students
HOW TO IMPLEMENT
Course length: Video 7.5 min + 10-15 min of discussion
Homeroom or Social Emotional Learning class
The facilitator would choose 1-2 questions from each scene from Presenter Guide and have students answer. They may take notes and submit to the administrator after completion.
Remote learning
Distribute Learners Guide along with the video. Instruct the parents/guardians to watch the video and fill out the Guide with student. The teachers may share the summary of students’ responses with the school administrator.
