Steve Sonnich, M.A., HR & Implementation Advisor (SME)
Steve Sonnich has 24 years of Human Resources (HR) executive management experience in school districts. For 12 years he was the Associate Administrator, Human Resources, at Grossmont Union High School District and, prior to that, 11 years as Director, Classified Personnel, at Carlsbad Unified School District, both in San Diego.
While at Grossmont Steve and Dr. Glenn Lipson developed an online course on Sexual Misconduct Prevention “Making Right Choices”. His in-depth experience with the implementation of the course in a District with 4,000 full and part-time employees, his training of Administrators in the appropriate actions to take in relation to allegations, and his work with labor unions resulted in changing the District’s culture from reactive to preventative.
As a consultant, Steve has worked with Making Right Choices for over a decade. He also assists Districts and States in implementing NASDTEC Clearing House. Steve’s role is to assist with implementation, policy development, and training based on his organizational and institutional experience. His participation has contributed in developing enhanced awareness, systematic and evidence-based solutions, and in demonstrating effectiveness in the prevention of harm.
